Passione Gourmet in Puglia
For Passione Gourmet, the stop in Puglia’s Margherita di Savoia held on 3 May was a great success. Indeed, over 300 catering professionals attended the fifth Selecta event.
As always, this occasion was an opportunity to liaise thanks to the presence of partner suppliers always ready to talk and work with everyone there. Present with their ingredients were: Cadoret, Rafols, Porto Santo Spirito, La Piemontese, Cinco Jotas, Olmeda, Il Fienile and Le Tenute del Cavaliere. Over 170 ingredients could be sampled including Spanish to Irpinian cheeses, Loch Fyne salmon, freshly-prepared squid ink tagliatelle, 100% Bellota Iberian ham, Rougié foie gras, concluding with the sweet temptations of Valrhona and La Rose Noire.
Then there were two demos dedicated to Cadoret oysters, being highly educational thanks to Jean-Jacques himself illustrating the farming techniques for the molluscs, their characteristics and how to taste them, followed by a chance to taste the oysters and speak directly with the producer.
