Caseificio la Bruna
The Caseificio la Bruna is located in Monterosso Grana, a small, ancient village nestled in the unspoilt Valle Grana where chestnut forests alternate with pastures used for the herds for the production of cheeses, following centuries of Piedmont tradition, including the famous Castelmagno DOP.
This passion for cheesemaking has been handed down from generation to generation, along with knowledge and experience in processing milk and creating genuine, authentic cheeses. Even in the late 1800s, Nonno Magno raised cattle and produced wonderful alpine cheeses in a small mountain pasture. Today, the new generation of cheesemakers carries on the family business, processing milk from their own brown cows and constantly enhancing the art of cheesemaking in Piedmont and the surrounding area, with a deep connection to the traditions of the past.
La Bruna is not just a cheese producer but oversees all the steps in the chain to guarantee superlative, natural and unique products – from rearing the animals to the milking, cheese production and maturation in caves.
Indeed, it is in the cheese-ageing cave that the magic happens. An enchanted and timeless place where fresh cheeses rest on wooden boards, where they slowly mature and refine under the daily care of the skilful hands of the cheesemakers.
